Description
The 1907 Girtonian is the first volume of the Girton School for Girls documenting the school's sixth year as an independent all girls boarding school in Winnetka, Illinois. Francis King Cooke founded the school in 1901, which ran through 1919. In 1919, the school campus and some students were absorbed by the new North Shore Country Day School, which is still operating in the same location today.
Pages 15-17 feature a brief history of the Girton School written by faculty member Miss Mary M. Richardson, who taught Latin, Greek, and Roman history.
