Description
Bronze and black historical marker. Text reads:
1919-2019 [North Shore Country Day School Seal] "Live and Serve"
North Shore Country Day School
On October 2, 1919, on this 16-acre campus, North Shore Country Day School opened its doors for the first day of classes, welcoming students in kindergarten through 12th grade. A small group of local parents who desired an alternative to local public schools invited progressive educator Perry Dunlap Smith to become Headmaster. They, and many others since, built and nurtured a school community whose focus on whole child development—through full participation in academics, arts, athletics, and service—continues to educate and inspire.
Dedicated on October 2, 2019, to commemorate the School’s Centennial.
